Tracey Gabelman-Hart
founder and director
“I love working with the younger
get to be so creative and fun. Then you get to
be more demanding and encouraging to the
older, more serious dancers.”
Tracey began dancing at age four and studied
with a community mentor, Karen McWilliams,
along with many other instructors including with
Ballet West in 1978. She then continued her
education at UNL, majoring in business
administration with a minor in dance. Tracey
has choreographed for many community
productions including Pinewood Bowl, Wesleyan
Swing Choir and the Shim-Sham Senior Tap
Troupe. She married Gary Hart in 1980 and
they opened the studio in 1987. Their daughter,
Aly, joined as co-director in 2012. They also
have a son, Michael, who teaches seventh
grade Math here in Lincoln.
Debbie Burroughs has been a part
of the Hart family since 1990 when she
joined the teaching staff. Her love of
dance took her to Phoenix, Arizona
where she danced as a member of the
Phoenix Suns Dance Line. She’s also
been involved in local productions
either performing or choreographing.

Debbie is a firm believer in ongoing
education and travels to workshops
and take classes in New York City
when time allows. Although she has
training in many styles, her passion
lies in tap, jazz and musical theatre.  
Debbie is married and has two children.
Kelli Anderson has been a part
of Hart Dance for almost 20
years - first as a student herself!
Teaching tap and combination
classes, Miss Kelli is an expert
tapper with an Education degree
and is also a former LPS teacher.

Kelli is married to Terry and they
have three children: Tate, Kaia
and Eliot.
Nicolette Brown has been
dancing since the age of three at
Hart. She was a member of the
Lincoln Southeast Shirettes
Dance Team for two years. She
has traveled to New York City to
attend dance classes and
participated in many dance
conventions. Nicolette is currently
the head coach for the Lincoln
Lutheran Blue Angels dance team.

Her favorite styles are ballet, jazz,
tap and contemporary. Nicolette
works as an interior designer at
L.O Interiors.
We are very proud of the amazing instructors at HDA. They are each uniquely talented and offer the perfect fit for dancers of all ages and levels. We feel so
strongly about their talents that we often rotate teachers in certain classes to provide dancers with a broader experience. The 2017-18 staff includes:
Abbey Spencer has been
dancing since the age of ten. She
was a member of the Lincoln High
Pomalinks Dance Team for three
years and recently graduated from
UNL. She hopes to be accepted
into UNMC’s College of Dentistry
for dental hygiene soon!

Abbey’s favorite styles of dance
are jazz, ballet, contemporary and
hip hop.
Becky White has been dancing
since the age of 3 at  Karen
McWilliams School of Dance. She
was a member of the Lincoln High
School and the Creighton
University Dance Teams. Becky
graduated from Creighton in
2008, with a Doctor of Pharmacy
degree. She currently works as a
Clinical pharmacist at the Lincoln

Becky has coached multiple high
school dance teams and taught
at different dance studios across
the Midwest. Becky enjoys
spending her free time with her
husband Kaleb and sons, Sawyer
and Kenton.
Frannie Calkins has been
dancing at Hart since the age
of three. She was a member
of the Emeralds Dance
Team, and was the co-coach
of the Lincoln Lutheran Blue
Angels dance team. After
participating in dance
conventions, as well as
taking master classes from
many different
choreographers and several
trips to NYC to dance, she is
truly excited to be teaching
again this year. She is a
psychology major at UNL.
Kate Majorins started dancing at Hart
Dance Academy at age 5 through high
school and went on to study at the
UMKC conservatory where she received
her BFA in dance. She then worked for
the Fort Wayne Dance Collective where
she taught ballet and modern, danced
for their touring company as well as
local modern company (MDT), led
classes for people with special needs,
and worked in a hospital arts program
with patient interaction as a movement
artist in residence. Kate teaches ballet,
pointe and modern, and helps with our
Repertory program. She recently
welcomed her third child and enjoys
staying home with them during the day.
Aly Hart Summerson
“Inspiring dancers to find the same joy in dance
that I feel is amazing. Building relationships with
each dancer and watching them progress is my
favorite part. I feel so lucky to be a dancer and a
Aly has been dancing since age three. She has
trained in ballet, pointe, modern, lyrical, tap and
jazz and began teaching all styles in 2001. She
received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting
from UNL in 2005 and worked as a graphic artist
for Talent Plus for 8 years. She was the head
coach for the Lincoln High School dance team
from 2003-2011. Aly is married to Nate

Summerson and they have two daughters, Layla
and Miriam. As co-director, she focuses on
scheduling, advanced curriculum and the
Repertory program in addition to teaching many
classes primarily in contemporary and jazz.
Cassidy Taladay has grown
up dancing at Hart, taking
classes in the styles of ballet,
tap, jazz, and contemporary
throughout the past 15 years.
She is currently a junior
Advertising &
Communications major at
UNL. She can't wait to
continue her journey at Hart
both dancing and teaching
this upcoming year!
Kelsi Reiners has been
dancing at Hart since the age
of 5, and has taken classes
in ballet, jazz, tap,
contemporary, and hip hop.  
She is a senior Elementary
Education major at UNL, and
is so excited to have the
opportunity to combine her
passion for teaching with her
passion for dance. Kelsi’s
favorite styles of dance are
hip hop and tap, and loves
getting to teach them to her
student dancers every week.
Sydney Mickells has been
dancing at Hart since the age
of five, taking classes in ballet,
jazz and contemporary. She
was selected to be included in
Hart’s first repertory group and
has attended dance
workshops in Kansas City and
New York. Sydney is an
elementary and special
education major at UNL.

She is excited to teach this
year, and continue to share
her love of dance with new
and continuing students..
Sophia Longoria has been
dancing since the age of 4.
She was a competitive dancer
for 7 years, participating in
master classes and receiving
scholarships from Hall of Fame,
Dancemakers Inc. and
Manhattan Dance Project. She
was a member of the Southeast
High School Shirettes for two

She enjoys taking all styles of
dance and is very excited for
the opportunity to teach again
this year at Hart Dance, her
second home!
