From the classroom to the stage... learn the LOVE of dance at HART.

DKNY. (Dancers kNeeding New York) is a group of Hart dancers in the intermediate/advanced level of classes who are
dedicated to pursuing dance in all outlets.
Every other year (non-recital years) a group of assistants and dancers who show positive maturity, dedication, skill and
attendance are invited to travel to New York to take classes from Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway, as well as see
shows on Broadway and take in the sites of New York City.
There are several fundraisers throughout the year at the studio, and if you are able, please support the arts and this young group
of dancers.
Our next trip is scheduled for summer 2015. You must be 14+ to take classes in NY and we start invitations with our assistants and
then oldest Repertory dancers. If you have questions, please see Tracey or Aly.
Hart Dance Academy is featured in the current issue of DanceTeacher magazine for our amazing NYC trips! Read the article here.

Hart Dancers kNeed New York City 5
Hart Dance Academy feels that students should have a variety of experiences to grow into
better dancers and most importantly to be inspired in their art form. This includes guest
teachers, unique classes, performing opportunities, varying styles and for 10 lucky dancers
this June – a trip to New York City!
Every other year, Hart offers this amazing trip to teachers, assistant teachers and dancers
who work exceptionally hard in their many classes. The dancers took from the professional
faculty at both “Steps on Broadway” and “Broadway Dance Center.” They joined open
classes in such styles as ballet, contemporary, flexibility, Latin jazz, tap, street jazz, hip-hop
and theatre. The group had the opportunity to see the Tony award-winning shows, “Billy
Elliott,” “Memphis,” and “How To Succeed in Business” and the American Ballet Theatre’s
show “The Bright Stream” at the The Metropolitan Opera.
The teachers and students return to Lincoln with a new sense of excitement and dedication
to hard work in their classes. Although the Big Apple offers many things to visitors – great
food, great shows, great shopping – the overwhelming appreciation for the arts is the best
thing we bring back with us. HDA is proud to offer this to their students.
