OKLA Intensive Workshop

OKLA. Hart Dance Academy has now hosted two in-house intensive workshops featuring faculty members from
OKLA Dance Connection. The workshops featured beginning- through advanced-level classes in ballet, tap, lyrical,
hip-hop, jazz, musical theatre and technique. In March, Emily Martinez received the scholarship, allowing her to perform
with Adam Parson at the regionals in Oklahoma City in October 2009. In November, Lauren Ayars and Nicolette Brown
received the scholarships.

Lisa Woods is best known for her passion for dance and creative choreography. She began her training at the age of three in
Houston, Texas. Lisa continued on to become a member of the Beamont Civic Ballet and the Jefferson Jazz Company. Her
performances in Ballets such as the The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Giselle, earned her a full scholarship to the Robert Joffery’s
School of Ballet in NYC. She chose however, to utilize another full scholarship from Joe Tremaine, and at the age of 17 moved to
Los Angeles. She has appeared in videos, television productions, and national commercials for McDonalds, and Diet Coke. She
has danced with Paula Abdul, tapped with Tony Danza and performed on the Dance Club Barbie Commercial. Lisa owned Studio J
for six years and has recently been hired on as Adjunct Professor of Dance at the University of Central Oklahoma. She is the proud
mother of three sons and one daughter.
Lachlan McCarthy is a native of Sydney, Australia. He moved to Los Angeles in 2003 to train at the Edge Performing Arts Center
under their scholarship program. His work credits span both the Australian and th Los Angeles entertainment industries including
the Warner Brothers animated film “Happy Feet”, Baz Luhrmann’s “Midsummer Night Dream” at the Sydney Opera House as well as
numerous Australian awards shows. In addition, Lachlan has performed in industrials for Mercedes Benz and Sumsung. He is a
current company member of Adam Parson’s Commonality Dance Company and was an original cast member of the Los Angeles
Smash hit musical “Rock of Ages.” Lachlan has a vast array of teaching experience including teaching at the Edge. Lachlan is
thrilled to be a part of OKLA Dance Connection family and is excited to pass his love and energy for dance on to younger dancers
in training. He will inspire you to reach for your dreams.
